So, what’s the problem?
Republicans in the Senate are going to block their efforts and Democrats are going to let them.
Democrats only have 51 votes in the Senate. 51 out of 100 can get stuff done, right? Wrong.
Because of a tradition called the filibuster we need 60 votes to get anything done. That means no Covid checks, no state and city funding, no vaccine and testing money, no $15 minimum wage. None of it without 60 votes.
